Nessacus Families,

Happy New Year!  I hope you all had time to spend with family and friends this past week and the students are ready to come back to school tomorrow!

MR. WESTWOOD’S NEW ADVENTURE
Beginning this week Mr. Westwood will be teaching at Craneville Elementary School as an Interventionist.  He is looking forward to being back at the elementary level working with small groups of students providing intensive instruction.  Mr. Lennon and Mrs. Frissell will be taking over Mr. Westwood’s Social Studies classes and Mrs. Lagerwall will be taking over the writing class.  We will all miss Mr. Westwood but wish him the best in his new adventure.

DYC DANCE
The DYC will be hosting a dance on January 18th from 6-9.  The cost will be $5.

SEUSSICAL the MUSICAL PRACTICES
Practices for the musical will be every day for the next 3 weeks.  All cast is called every day EXCEPT for January 3 (only Horton, JoJo, and Cat in the Hat), January 9 (everyone except for Maisy, Horton, and Gertrude), and January 10 (only Horton, Gertrude, JoJo, and Cat in the Hat).  Practices will run right after school until 6:00. The show will be on January 18th. On that day students will stay through to the play which will be at 7:00.

This is sure to be a great performance, please mark your calendars for January 18th at 7:00 to come see our very talented students!

LOST AND FOUND
We will be donating the lost and found items to a local charity after January 4th.  Please stop in and look to see if anything on the table belongs to you!

HEALTH FOR GRADES 7 & 8
Beginning in January the 7th and 8th grades will be getting Health in place of PE.  You will be getting information directly from the PE teachers about this. The Health program runs through January and February.

The Wahconah Cheer team is going to Florida in February for Nationals.  They will be holding a bottle drive on Saturday, January 12th from 9am to 4pm at Kelly’s Package Store and the Dalton Transfer Station. However, people can donate in 1 of 3 ways. They can:

  • Drop their empties off early at Kelly’s Package Store anytime between now and January 12th and let Kelly’s know they’re donating them to the Wahconah Cheerleaders
  • Bring their empties to Kelly’s Package Store or the Dalton Transfer Station on January 12th and give them to the cheerleaders
