PTO MEETING CANCELED MAY 6

Due to the Dalton Town meeting being held on May 6, the PTO meeting for May is going to be canceled.  Elections will be held during the June meeting.

Also, the PTO is looking for 8th grade parents and teachers to chaperone or donate concessions to the step-up dance on June 13. Any help would be appreciated!

GUM AND CANDY

We have seen an increase in candy and gum at school recently.  We are asking that gum and candy be left at home and will be asking students to leave any gum and candy that makes its way to school to keep it in their lockers.  

BERKSHIRE HORSEWORKS

Berkshire HorseWorks, a nonprofit based in Richmond which provides equine assisted psychotherapy to those at-risk in the Berkshires, are hosting their 2nd Annual Scavenger Hunt and Hoedown.   "Horse and Hikers for Healing” will take place on Saturday, June 22nd at 10:00 AM. For more information, see the attached flyer.

BOOK STUDY

CBRSD, in conjunction with the Multicultural Bridge, invites you to take part in a book study.  The book “Why are all the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria?” will be read and discussed.  Please see the flyer for more information.

COMMUNITY ACCESS TO THE ARTS PRESENTS NEXUS

Shakespeare and Company presents a “joy filled performance featuring 50 artists with disabilities sharing their talents in dance, theatre, juggling, music, and more”  See flyer for details.

MCAS

Mcas is going well!  This week we will be doing the 2nd math session for grades 6-8.  Tuesday - 6th grade; Wednesday - 7th grade; and Thursday 8 8th grade!  Next week the 8th grade will have Science on Tuesday and Wednesday!

Equity and DIversity

On May 17th the Multicultural Bridge will be working with all students in the morning on Diversity and Equity and will be working with the staff in the afternoon.  Our next Equity and DIversity meeting will be May 23rd in the Library from 5:00-6:45.  Nessacus will also be working with the Department of Justice to bring the SPIRIT (Student Problem Identification and Resolution of Issues Together)  program to Nessacus.  For more information click on the word SPIRIT and you will be brought to the justic.gov site for the SPIRIT program.  

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL AND 8th GRADE GRADUATION IS JUNE 13th

Graduation will be at 9:00.  The step up dance will take place that evening and the PTO is looking for donations for the concession stand as well as chaperones.
